10 Unpopular Eraserheads Songs You'd Probably Like

Like most of the bands sa 90's, isa din ako sa naimpluwensyahan ng Eraserheads pagdating sa paggawa ng kanta. Walang arteng technical shit at rekta na sa punto. Madaling maintindihan at saka may recall ang tono. Nasa borderline ng pagiging masa, malalim at pagiging corny.

Maraming nakakaalam sa atin ng Eraserheads classic singles like Toyang, Pare Ko, Magasin, Huling El Bimbo at kung ano ano pa. If you're a true blooded Eraserheads fan, malamang kahit hindi na-ere sa radyo marami ka pang alam na eheads songs na maganda pero considered rare. Rarity dahil hindi naman sumikat pero alam mong these songs are actually good. Minsan better pa nga sa mga sumikat nilang kanta. So here they are, 10 Eraserheads radio friendly songs you probably don't know but I know you'll like.

1. Hard To Believe (from Stickerhappy) - Kung nagustuhan mo ang With A Smile, malamang matitripan mo din ang kantang 'to. It's mellow and has a really catchy tune. I can say it's a love song pero it's actually something else. Siguro pakinggan n'yo na lang and decide.

2. Shirley (from Ultraelectromagneticpop!) - Upbeat, happy, catchy, energetic. 'Yan ang Shirley. It's a story of this girl na nainlablablablab na naman. It can go side by side with Toyang and Tindahan ni Aling Nena dahil sa datingan ng tugtugan n'ya. It's a happy song kaya it vibrates this positive feel.

3. Kama Supra (from Cutterpillow) - Pag narinig mo ang song na 'to alam mo ng Eraserheads song s'ya instantly. It's a trademark song. Obvious sa tono at sa mga linya ng kanta. One of those cool songs na pwede mo patugtugin and feel relaxed kahit di naman s'ya mabagal na kanta to begin with.

4. Lightyears (from Fruitcake) - From my favorite Eraserheads album Fruitcake comes Lightyears. Ang lakas ng dating ng kantang 'to kasi the song was produced so well (with orchestra and all). Pwede din s'yang love song pero it can be just a sad song really. One of those songs na mapapahanga ka sa pagsulat ni Ely.

5. Fill Her (from Cutterpillow) - Definitely a love song. Pinaka maigsi na yata nilang kanta (not a filler) sa tingin ko. I think it was a filler as its title suggests pero it was placed in the most perfect spot sa Cutterpillow album. Why? Because as it strikes its last note, biglang eentra na ang epic intro ng Huling El Bimbo.

This catchy song actually gives out the synopsis of the movie and it does it very well.

7. Fine Time (from Cutterpillow) - Isa sa mga love song na hindi naging single dahil I think pinoy listeners, ang MASA, might not be ready for this kind of love song. It's a very good song na feel good and melodic pero not enough para maging HIT sa "masa" noong mga panahong 'yun. It's not mainstream enough. Sadly.

8. Wishing Wells (from Circus) - Kung feel good music lang ang pag-uusapan, well, look or should I say, listen no further! Wishing wells was one of my favorites sa Circus. It's fast pero not rap-fast. It's catchy and will definitely stick to your head. One of those songs you'll hum at first kasi mahirap makabisado lyrics, hehe.

9. Tikman (from Burger Machine ad) - You might have heard of it pero you wouldn't know na Eraserheads pala ang kumanta ng Burger Machine jingle. I LOVE that jingle and when I learned na eheads pala gumawa 'nun, lalo lang akong humanga sa kanila. They definitely know how to make catchy tunes.

10. Kailan Lounge (from Circus) - You probably heard the song Kailan pero this is its melancholic version. It's basically Ely accompanied with a piano singing Kailan - jazzy style. Very soulful and makes the song Kailan a hundered times better para sa akin. Makes you appreciate the words more.

There's a lot more actually pero those songs are on my top list. Runner ups would be Ha Ha Ha, Shake Yer Head, Poor Man's Grave, Outside, Waiting for the Bus, Milk and Money, Maaalalahanin, and a few of non-Ely songs are actually good pero sadly, they're not that radio friendly.
