Filthy, este, Fifty Shades of Grey |
Remember when this book came out dati? Hanep sa ratings, 'di ba? Best seller at talaga namang maiintriga kahit sinong bookworm. Pero as I've said, never read the book so what do I know?
So I downloaded an e-book version. I read a few pages. After a few I started skipping pages. After thirty minutes naka facepalm na 'ko. I gave up on the book. Napakawalang kwentang plot at paano naging best seller 'to? It kinda worried me bakit patok ang ganitong klaseng book lalo na sa babae. Anong meron? Nababuyan pa nga ako to put it bluntly.
And now there's this upcoming movie.
Again - mostly, if not all, girls na naman. WHY?!
Nakabasa ako ng perpektong plot summary ng Fifty Shades of Grey sa isang article sa TIME website and it goes something like this:
They have sex, she wants to smooch, he wants to flog, there’s a bunch of talking about this, they have sex again, she again wants to smooch, he again wants to flog, there’s a bunch more talking about this, and so on for several hundred word-filled pages.
Finally, Anastasia decides to let Christian flog her, to see what it would be like. So he takes a belt and flogs her on the butt. Then, in the dramatic climax to the story, the moment we have been building up to, Anastasia comes to a shocking, life-changing realization, which nobody could have foreseen in a million years: Getting flogged on the butt hurts. Yes! It’s painful! Anastasia does not like it! Double crap!!
So she breaks up with him.
And then . . .
And then the book is over.
I’m serious. That’s the plot.
Ganda ng plot 'no?
