Four Movies and a Review

It's been a while since I reviewed movies na napanood ko sa torrent sa sinehan. So might as well compile all the movies na napanood ko sa big screen recently and review them all in one post. Use this to decide kung dapat n'yo ba panoorin ang movie sa sine (kung showing pa) o i-download na lang abangan na lang na ipalabas sa TV (in tagalog version BABY!!!).

These films are in order sa kung kelan ko napanood ang mga movies na 'to with my wife. I will also insert my wife's review sa mga movies na 'to judging by her reaction sa sinehan. Let's go!

1. Now You See Me - Remember those guys sa Zombieland? 'Yung dalawang bidang lalake 'dun ang bida din dito sa movie na 'to. Quite effectively. Mahaba ang movie and it is action packed, too. It's about this group of magicians doing "crimes" pero actually it's for a test to be accepted sa isang elite club ng magicians. Maganda ang effects and really fascinating since lahat naman tayo mahilig sa magic. Maybe what I liked most sa movie na 'to is the twist it has sa dulo. I love twists sa stories and that "aahhh..." moment. Too bad di na s'ya showing so abangan n'yo na lang sa dvd or blu-ray.

> Wife's reaction: After namin mapanood ang movie, nagpatuloy pa rin sa pag research at google si Judy about sa movie. About sa plot twists, sa characters sa movie and all. Ito ay isang classic sinyales na nagustuhan naman n'ya ang pelikula. 

2. Man of Steel - YES! Finally, a superman movie na matino. I was looking forward to this movie for years. Lalo na siguro 'yung kapatid ko at mga kabarkadang superman addicts. Needless to say, we entered the movie house na may mataas na expectation. As in singtaas ng lipad ni superman. I know it's not fair kasi nga the higher the expectation - mas malaki risk na madisappoint. Well, the movie delivered. I just wished mas marami pang build up parts. I love the first hour of the movie. May part pa nga 'dun na muntik na 'ko maiyak.The second half, well, pwede na din pero it kinda reminded me of Dragonball Z.

> Wife's reaction: At the later part ng pelikula I noticed nakapatong pa rin sa balikat ko ang ulo n'ya. Nagduda na 'ko. And I was right, nakatulog na ang sleeping beauty. Habang naggugulpihan sina superman at zod sa big screen - wala s'yang pake. Verdict? She'd rather play with her cats I guess, hehe.

3. World War Z - Isa na namang zombie flick. Sa isip ko - ano pa ba'ng pwedeng ilagay na bagong formula dito na we haven't seen before? Pero guess what - we enjoyed the movie! Like the previous films above, mahaba din s'ya. 'Eto na yata uso ngayon - 'yung more than 2 hours and film. I just love the first scenes na ipinakita how the zombie outbreak began. Panic, chaos and terror. Gusto ko din 'yung fact na ginamit nila mismo ang term na "zombie" in describing zombies. Some movies would describe them as undead or walkers kasi. I also prefer the running zombies over the slowpoke zombies na parang ang dali naman takasan. The movie has a lot of suspense and really delivered the goods!

> Wife's reaction: May eksena sa World War Z na talaga namang ang higpit ng kapit sa'kin ni Judy at panay ang sigaw. Kung mag-jowa lang kami naka 10,000 points na 'ko neto, haha! I bet maraming boys ang dinala ang mga nililigawan nila sa film na 'to. My wife enjoyed the zombie ride and of course Brad Pitt.

4. Four Sisters and a Wedding - Now I have to admit utang ko kay Judy ang enjoyment ko sa pelikulang ito. Stereotype na kung stereotype pero let's jut say I don't trust local movies anymore. Sobrang wala lang akong tiwala sa mainstream pinoy movies. Pero this film, surprisingly, I liked. Skeptic ako sa plot kasi parang ang corny. Apat na magkakapatid na babae (Angel, Shaina, Bea, Toni) na gustong di matuloy ang kasal ng bunso nilang kapatid (Enchong). Parang baduy di ba? Pero siguro I just enjoyed it's lightness after watching heavy films. Saka the in betweens ng film - it's effective when it's trying to be funny or wants the audience to feel the drama. Besides, bihira lang mag-yaya si Judy sa sinehan so I am very much obligued to watch.

> Wife's reaction: Obviously enjoy na enjoy n'ya ang pelikula. Tawa ng tawa! Pero sa later part ng film napatagal na naman ang ulo n'ya sa balikat ko. Napaisip ako. Nakatulog? Pero pag check ko sa mukha n'ya, BOOM! Nanlilimahid sa luha! Talaga naman, Star Cinema drama never fails to put tears on her eyes.
