Happy monday and hooray for Weezer!

Kailan lang naglabas ang Weezer ng new album na titled the title of this blog - Everything Will Be Alright in the End. Sakto ang title ng album nila to start the week 'di ba? So what's the album like? Well, isa lang masasabi ko pag pinakinggan mo s'ya - everything will be alright 'til the end. In short, pumasa lahat ng kanta ng album sa'kin from the first track 'til the last one.

A little background muna.

Matagal na akong Weezer fan pero I just discovered the band during college at nakalabas na ang 2nd album nilang Pinkerton by that time. Yup, late ko na sila nakilala. Thanks to a classmate - ayun, I immediately got hooked sa bawat tracks ng Pinkerton. Soon enough I listened to their very first album (Blue album) and super ganda din ng songs! 

They call their music geek pop punk or something like that. Basta melodic na sobrang catchy at the same time rock. Wala pang mp3 'nun so cassette pa ang pinatutugtog ko with matching panda ballpen rewinder. Solb! (Yeah I know, only 90's kids get this.)

Dahil hindi naman mainsteam ang Weezer noon, hindi sila madalas maglabas ng album. Actually, parang apat na taon nga yata bago nasundan 'yung Pinkerton ng next album (Green album). Dito na nagsimula parang medyo may nag-iba sa kanta nila - well, okay pa rin naman pero parang wala na masyadong variation 'yung album. Nasundan pa ang Green album ng Maladroit, Make Believe, Red album, Raditude, and Hurley - ayun, hit and miss na ang mga kanta so medyo nawalan na rin ako ng expectation sa Everything Will Be Alright in the End. Narinig ko pa 'yung teasers for this album and di ko masyado trip 'yung single nila pero heto ako ngayon listening to the album's songs in loop while working.

'Yung mga songs na akala ko di ko trip ay dahan dahan ko na ring nagustuhan (naks). What I like about this latest album is parang bumalik sila sa roots nila which they failed to do sa mga past albums nila, well, consistently. So far my favorite tracks are Lonely Girl, I've Had It Up To Here, The British Are Coming, Go Away, and Cleopatra.

Magandang resurrection 'to for Weezer and sana nga tulad ng The Walking Dead season 5 - magtuloy-tuloy na. With this, I give you - Weezer's Everything Will Be Alright in the End.
