The Walking Dead Resurrection

So I watched the season 5 premiere of The Walking Dead kagabi. Honestly, I was kind of skeptic kasi nga medyo nawalan na ako ng gana sa show na 'to (here's why) pero this season starter could actually revive my interest ulit. Like a zombie, nabuhay muli ang The Walking  Dead fan within me.

During the The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones hiatus, napakadami kong series na sinubukan. Nandyan ang The Strain, Silicon Valley, Z Nation, Extant, Be Careful With My Heart, at kung ano ano pang shows pero syempre iba pa din 'yung first love kung baga. If you're able to watch a TV series kahit na alam mong 'di ka na ganoon kainteresado, that means subconsciously, you still give a shit about this show 'di ba? Meron pa 'ding magic. Kaya naman when I watched the episode kagabi I could tell na isa pa din ako sa linggo linggong mag-aabang ng bawat episode nito.

The episode started in a BANG! Well, pwedeng literally pero what I mean is, ang lupet ng first 10 minutes ng episode! 'Yun 'yung na-miss ko eh, 'yung tension sa ere at saka 'yung helplessness ng mga bida. I was hoping may madededs sa mga bida pero c'mon - first episode deds agad? Well, why not? Pero then again, hayaan natin na 'yung director mag-decide n'yan for us. Naalala ko tuloy 'yung sigaw ng fans na "Kill Darryl, We Riot" - wow.

Maraming patay pero walang patay na sandali ang episode. Meron ding drama at flashbacks. You can tell na talagang maganda ang execution ng episode na 'to dahil balanse. Bawat characters may moment and syempre just like that - the Terminus arc ended (or not?).

Since nasimulan na nila ang ganitong pacing, sana naman ituloy tuloy na nila. Napanood ko kasi 'yung teaser for the next episode and it looked like a new story arc unfolds. Sana lang 'di 'to parang anime filler na maganda nga pero wala naman kinalaman sa actual plot ng story. Sana they make every episode count. At sana ulit, last na, 'di lang ako pinatakam ng The Walking Dead just to disappoint me again sa mga susunod na episodes. You don't do that to me... again.

Let's see if they continue with more awesome episodes. As for me, I'll be watching closely... weekly.
